When you are mixing red into a white frosting or batter you inevitably get pink no matter how much red you seem to put in. Just a hint, red is a hard color to master. Next you layer them in your cupcake wrappers, spread the batter with each addition for a more level look. You can use the drops, I use Wilton Concentrated Gel Icing Colors. Mix up your batter, then split it in however many colors you want in your cuppie. If you want to doctor it up a bit, go for it. I prefer Duncan Hines mixes, they just seem more moist. They are super simple and make a fun cupcake to celebrate an event or holiday. I know you've seen the "tie die" or "rainbow" cupcakes all over the web. This placements gives a unified look to the layout. These cuppies are nothing fancy. The photo and papers are spatially connected to each other because of their proximity. Unity: Unity creates a feeling of wholeness. Be careful not to overuse repetition as it can get boring quickly! Repetition creates visual consistency in page designs. I have also repeated the rectangles from the door in the photo. Repetition: I repeated the colors blue, gray, yellow/orange using a variety of patterned paper and elements with various textures.
